(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): In Madhya Pradesh, a video of a full-grown tiger relaxing in the middle of a flyover went viral. The incident happened at NH 7, which lies under the Pench National Park buffer zone. Some construction work was reportedly going on in the area when the tiger appeared and sat down in the middle of the road, creating a flutter between eyewitnesses and stopping traffic. One video that goes viral on social media shows the tiger panting in the middle of the road while another – filmed from inside the car – shows witnesses wondering if the tiger would launch a vehicle attack.
However, the big cat did not attack or harm anyone. The forest department was informed by eyewitnesses, and a police team also reached the area. After sitting on the flyover for a bit, the big cat got up and went on its own into the trees. The place lies near the Pench National Park, home to a significant number of tigers. Today, elevated stretches are being built on the highway from Seoni to Nagpur to encourage faster tiger and another wildlife movement.
