(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) USA: After India, now the Chinese video app Tik Tok and messaging app WeChat are going to be closed in America. In fact, the US department of commerce has issued an order related to this on Friday. According to this order, from September 20, downloading of WeChat and Tiktok will cease in the US.
According to the information, this app will stop in operation from Sunday. It is known that 224 Chinese apps have been banned in India so far this year, which was welcomed by US Administration and lawmakers. The United States has ordered a ban on the downloading of Tiktok and the use of WeChat as a threat to national security. “The Chinese Communist Party has used this app to jeopardize national security foreign policy and America’s economy.”, Wilbur Ross said in a statement.
After this decision of the US administration from September 20, WeChat and Tiktok apps in the country will be removed from the online Marketplace operated by Google and Apple. WeChat will be closed effectively in the US from Sunday, but existing Tik Tok users will be able to use the app till November 12. After this, Tiktok will cease operations in the US.
