Today’s Bihar doesn’t need ‘lalten’: PM

(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist) Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi began campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar on Friday. Addressing a rally in Dehri-on Sone (Sasaram), the Prime Minister said people have decided that those who have a history of making Bihar ‘Bimaru’ will not be allowed to return. “The people who once ruled Bihar are again looking at the developing state with their greedy eyes. But, Bihar must not forget who pushed them backward, that was the time when there was worsening law and order situation and corruption in the state.” He also lauded the efforts of the Nitish Kumar government in handling the covid pandemic. “The decisions and steps taken by the state govt and people of Bihar against the pandemic are highly commendable,” he added.

Addressing a rally in Gaya, PM Modi said today’s Bihar doesn’t need lalten (Lantern). Lalten is the political symbol of RJD. He will visit Bhagalpur later in the day. He is scheduled to hold 12 rallies in the state in the coming days. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is also accompanying the Prime Minister in Sasaram and Bhagalpur.

“PM Modi will hold 12 election rallies in Bihar for NDA (National Democratic Alliance) candidates. On October 28, he will hold rallies in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, and Patna. On November 3, he will address rallies in Chhapra, East Champaran, and Samastipur, and on November 3, rallies in West Champaran, Saharsa, and Araria will be held.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also addressed a rally in Nawada’s Hisua. They are also slated to address a series of public meetings at Hisua in Nawada and Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district.

Voting for 243 assembly seats in the state will be held on October 28, November 3, and November 7, and results will be announced on November 10.
