(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist) Turkey has tested the Russian S-400 air defense system, despite US objections. President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey has every right to test the purchased system. America cannot stop us from this. It is not our obligation to obey him.
Turkey is a member country of the US-led NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). After the purchase of Turkey’s Russian air defense system, the US had stopped the deal to sell it state-of-the-art F-35 fighter aircraft. The US has said that the Russian system is dangerous for stealth fighters. Therefore, it cannot be accepted in the NATO system.
The US warned Turkey that if it used the S-400 system, it could ban it under the Katsa law. Turkey first bought the Russian system, asserting its sovereignty, and has now even tested it. In such a situation, the American step is now awaited
