(Shivam Chauhan, intern journalist), Jammu: The 45-year-old woman from south Kashmir died in hospital today, the next day after being found corona positive. This is the second death from Corona in a single day in the valley. The death toll from Corona infection in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 93.

Farooq Jaan said that the woman, who hails from Kulgaun Batengu Khandala, District of South Kashmir, was suffering from pneumonia along with high blood pressure, diabetes, and other serious diseases. Around 11 am today, the woman died during treatment. In the presence of Health Department officials, the woman will be handed over following the Covid-19 protocol.
The professor said that the woman was in a medical emergency and after doing a positive test she was shifted to an isolation ward. The woman’s sample was sent for examination on June 25 and was found positive in the report on Friday. The corona patient who died earlier is also a woman. A 70-year-old woman hailing from the Sopore area of district Baramulla in North Kashmir was undergoing treatment at SHMS Hospital. Although she died on Friday, the report sent for the investigation has come today, in which she has also been found positive.
Dr. Nazir Chaudhary, Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital, told that the female patient died last night. She was hospitalized on 25 June. She was suffering from pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). So far, out of 93 deaths due to corona infection in Jammu and Kashmir, 11 cases are from the Jammu division and 82 cases are from the Kashmir division.
According to data from the Health Department, Srinagar district has the highest number of deaths with 22 deaths. There are 14 deaths in Baramulla, 12 in Kulgaun, 10 in Shopian, seven in Jammu and Budgam, 6 in Anantnag, 5 in Kupwara, four in Pulwama while one each in Bandipora, Poonch, Doda, Udhampur and Rajouri.
