(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist); Uber, a company providing taxi booking services through the mobile app, is recruiting 140 engineers in the country. It will be part of the company’s Bangalore and Hyderabad-based technology team where they will develop various products related to the growth, supply, and customer service of customers and drivers. The company’s driver and customer support operations were disrupted due to the Covid-19 crisis, as well as its operations were almost shut down. As a result, in May, the company had announced the removal of its 600 employees in the next three months. Uber said in a statement on Wednesday, “The company is recruiting 140 engineers for its Bangalore and Hyderabad position technology team. These employees are motorcycle drivers, driver growth, supplies, markets, customer service, digital payments, risk, and Will develop state-of-the-art products in the areas of compliance, security, and financial technology. “
The company said that this expansion plan is in line with its goal of making the transportation and supply facility in the country more accessible. The company aims to become the main link for transport in thousands of cities in the world. Uber recently appointed Jairam Valliyur to head its global finance technology division. Prior to this, Valliyur has worked for 14 years at Amazon.
