UK started a trial of using hydrogen as a fuel in train

Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Britain began the trial of the country’s first hydrogen-powered which is eco friendly as it doesn’t emit harmful gases and uses hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, water, and heat.

The trial of HydroFLEX in Warwickshire in the Midlands follows almost two years of development, approximately 1 million pounds of investment by both rolling stock company Porter Brook and the University of Birmingham, said officials.

The technology, called by officials as “ground breaking”, will also be available by 2023 to retrofit current in-service trains to hydrogen, helping decarbonization the rail network and make rail journey’ greener and more efficient
