UN to support India for the floods in Assam

(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) United Nations; The United Nations (UN) was ready to support the Government of India if needs as devastating floods of Assam have displaced lakhs and have caused the death of above 100 people, said by the spokesperson of UN General secretary.

The UN received information that across 4million people were displaced in India and neighboring country Nepal because of the heavy flood from monsoon rains with a death tally of 189.

So the UN is ready to help India if required.

The World Food Programme (WFP) is also working to reach the communities with helicopters as it’s the only option at present.

‘More than 24.3 lakhs people were affected from 24 districts in Assam due to floods,’ said by Assam State Disaster Management.
