Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan nominated as member in GAVI board

(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has been nominated as a board member on behalf of the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (Gavi GAVI). This information has been given by the Government of India. The purpose of this organization is to ensure the availability of the vaccine to the citizens of low-income countries. 

The Covacs plan being run by the World Health Organization and GAVI (GAVI) aims to provide screening kits, medicines, and vaccines to poor and middle-income countries. The fund through which it is set up is named Access to Covid-19 Tools Accelerator, which was established in April.

Earlier, Dr. Harsh Vardhan was also given the responsibility of Chairman of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO). The main responsibility of the Executive Board of WHO is to implement the decisions and policies taken by the Health Assembly and to improve this function.

India has given $ 15 million to Gavi
Gavi was given the US $ 15 million in aid in the past. At a conference organized by video conferencing, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged nations around the world to pledge funding for vaccination to protect people and protect the world from such threats in the future.
