Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju unveiled the new logo of Sports Authority of India, SAI here on Wednesday. For the first time since the inception of this apex sports body in 1982, there has been a change in its logo. The new logo depicts ‘SAI’ in a bold letter with an illustration of an athlete’s flight.
The logo was unveiled at a brief ceremony held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The event was attended by several distinguished guests including Sports Secretary Ravi Mittal, SAI Director General Sandeep Pradhan, and Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra.
On this occasion, the Union Sports Minister (Kiren Rijiju) said that he himself had proposed a change in the logo of SAI after assuming the ministry. I said to make it simple and more meaningful. The new logo may be small but it is very meaningful. Its goal is big. Rijiju said that the logo is an identity of any organization. Sai has been promoting sports in the country for a long time. There was a need to change its logo.
The Union Sports Minister (Kiren Rijiju) said that I understand that the name of SAI appears to be more embossed in the new logo. The new logo also introduces simplicity. Its display is quite convenient and easy. It easily takes place in everyone’s mind. On this occasion, the Union Sports Minister also reiterated the goal of India’s presence in the top 10 countries in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. He said that it should always be kept in mind that our goal is very important.
