Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist) Lucknow: A total of 68 applications have come for the post of Chief Information Commissioner of the state. Retired Justice Anil Kumar, Senior IAS Deepak Trivedi, and State Information Commissioner Rajeev Kapoor are being further mentioned in the race for this post. However, the final decision will be made by a committee headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to government sources, a total of five applications have been found incomplete for different reasons. These will not be considered. These applications also include the applications of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman Prabhat Kumar and the waiting IAS Gurdeep Singh. Both of these applications have not been forwarded to the Department of Administrative Reforms, forwarded by the Personnel Department. Therefore, these will not be considered. However, Prabhat Kumar and Gurdeep Singh have also sent a copy of the application sent to the Personnel Department to the Administrative Reforms Department.
The rule is that if the applicant is currently in any government service, the application will be accepted only after the application is made with the NOC through the administrative department concerned. Apart from this, the applications of Dr. Satish Kumar Srivastava, Amarendra Chandra Shrivastava, and another working in the Department of Disability Welfare have been rejected due to a non-bank draft.
Justice Anil Kumar retired from the Allahabad High Court on August 6. Apart from this, another retired Justice Sabibul Hasnain has also applied. Deepak Trivedi is currently the Chairman of the Revenue Council. Rajiv Kapoor is currently serving as the State Information Commissioner. He is also a retired IAS officer.
