(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): The father of an army man was hacked to death, and his pregnant wife was violently assaulted over a land dispute in the Sangrampur district, police said on Wednesday. Rajendra Mishra (55) was killed with a sharp-edged weapon and Ashok Shukla and his accomplices beat his pregnant daughter-in-law Tuesday evening, they said. Surya Prakash, the victim’s son, is in the Army and is stationed in Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident occurred at the village of Thengaha Shukulpur, police said. Police superintendent, Khyati Garg said the victim’s body was sent to postmortem, and a manhunt was conducted to arrest Shukla and others involved in the incident.
