Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): In today’s polling for seven assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, the ruling party, as well as the Samajwadi Party’s reputation, is at stake. BJP has six seats out of seven while Samajwadi Party has one. Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress are also in the fray in this election. While six candidates each of Congress and Samajwadi Party are in the fray, BJP and BSP are beating the seven seats.
The SP has submitted the Bulandshahar seat to its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal, while the nomination of the Congress candidate from Tundla reserved seat was rejected.
The results coming on Tuesday after voting for the by-elections in seven assembly seats on Tuesday will indicate a political mood ahead of the general elections of 2022 from east to west. The BJP’s seriousness about this election can be gauged from the fact that along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both the Deputy Chief Minister and dozens of ministers have given full strength to save the party forts. BJP’s state organization was also very active. SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, BSP chief Mayawati and Congress in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra kept a distance from campaigning for the by-election. The candidates of these parties have put their full emphasis. Their state-level leaders may be engaged in promotional programs.
