(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) Uttar Pradesh: After Vikas Dubey’s encounter, the UP police started investigating the case intensely to find out the others involved in this case. As a part of this, the UP police on Sunday said, two men, were arrested by the Maharastra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) and reported that they were in connection with the Kanpur shootout. But they weren’t mentioned as wanted accused. The UP police interrogated the two on Sunday in Mumbai.

After the interrogation, the UP police described to media saying that they were Arvind alias Guddan Ramvilas Trivedi and his driver Sushilkumar alias Sonu Suresh Tiwari. Both of them were related to Vikas Dubey and were a part of Kanpur’s encounter. However, the ATS reported that Trivedi is listed in the wanted list by the UP police.

The ATS has produced Trivedi and Tiwari before a local court, which has remanded them in judicial custody. (Representational)

Even the UP police are trying to hide the identity of the accused to prevent unwanted attacks. Parallelly, they didn’t mention all their names in the FIR. They just mentioned 11 names and simply said 20-25 more are involved. But ATS said that Trivedi accepted the fact that he was on the shoot-out spot and finally escaped as the police gunned down.
