UP: Police was ‘careless’ in Hathras case?

(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Union Home Minister Amit Shah has supported the decision of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the alleged rape and murder of a Dalit girl in the Hathras Case.  Home Minister Amit Shah said that there has been some negligence at the police station level in the Hathras case but nothing has happened at the government level.  CM Yogi has taken the right decision by setting up SIT in this matter.

Home Minister Amit Shah said that there is no denying that police reform is the need of the hour, but rape takes place at the same time in Hathras and Rajasthan.  How right is it to do politics on such heinous crime?  Three accused of Hathras were arrested on the same day and today they are in jail.  At the same time, in the case of the cremation of the body of the victim at midnight, the Home Minister said that the SIT is investigating the case.  Some officers were also suspended.  Now the entire investigation has been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), but no one should do politics on such an issue.
