Soon after, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Pfizer’s Corona vaccine. On Thursday, the High Powered Vaccine Advisory Panel gave its green signal to Pfizer and Bioentech’s emergency use of the Covid-19 vaccine after a 9-hour marathon debate. It is believed that after the approval of the FDA, this vaccine will soon be brought to the public. In the last 24 hours, there have been 230000 cases of corona in the US. This is the highest number of coronavirus infections found in a country in a single day.
The vaccine advisory panel approved on Thursday
The 9-hour marathon debate on the safety and efficacy data of the Pfizer Corona vaccine was conducted by the US Vaccine Advisory Panel on Thursday. After which the Vaccine Advisory Group, with 17-4 votes, decided that Pfizer’s shot was safe for people 16 and older. Pfizer has claimed that its coronavirus vaccine is more than 95 percent effective.
This vaccine came into controversy with approval
US President-in-residence White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has pressured Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chief Stephen Han to approve Friday’s emergency use of the Pfizer company-produced Coronavirus vaccine. A senior official said Meadows spoke to Han on the phone on Friday. He reported that Han indicated that he would instruct regulators in this regard. President Donald Trump is pushing for the vaccine to be approved as soon as possible.
Pfizer claims – the vaccine is effective against corona
Katherine Johnson, head of Pfizer’s vaccine research team, told American Regulators at the historic Science Court-style meeting on Thursday that we have demonstrated a favorable safety and tolerability profile in over 40,000 individuals. A lot of questions were raised on Thursday during the meeting, mostly related to the vaccine’s efficacy in adolescence.
Moderna’s corona vaccine will also be approved soon
A meeting is also proposed on December 17 to approve the Corona vaccine from Moderna and the National Institutes of Health. Moderna has also claimed that her coronavirus vaccine is highly effective against corona. It is believed that Moderna’s corona vaccine will also be approved. Initially, the supply of these vaccines will be limited. As per priority, the vaccine dose will first be given to health workers, army, and police personnel.
Vaccination can start from December 21
Moderna CEO Stephen Bansell said the vaccine would be put on the market by 21 December if the process went smoothly and was approved. Moderna has revealed its data announced on Monday in its application. In which the vaccine has been claimed to be effective. The company has claimed that all the necessary scientific criteria have been met during the trial.
