Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Nine US Navy trainees who drowned while training at sea off the coast of California have been declared dead. Despite three days of relentless efforts, something was discovered. All naval trainees drown in deep water due to crash of Marine Craft.
US Navy Lt. Gen. Joseph Osterman reported that a Marine craft returning from San Clement Island fell victim to a crash on Thursday. All the nine trainees riding in it also drowned in deep water. In search of them helicopters and boats were put up, but only one trainee’s body was found.
Marine craft is used in surveillance and military operations around a warship at sea. All the trainees were attached to the Naval Camp Pendleton Unit. This crashed craft is also known as AAV or Amtrak. It is also used in military operations in addition to surveillance around warships at sea.
