Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): A fire broke out in a hotel in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Fire tenders have controlled the fire by reaching the spot. This hotel was being used as a Covid Center. Other people trapped inside the hotel have also been evacuated safely, while 9 people have died. This accident happened in the Hotel Golden Palace. There were reports of 40 people in the hotel. There were 30 corona patients and 10 hospital staff.
After a lot of hard work, the fire has also been controlled. The injured have been admitted to a nearby local hospital for treatment. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy himself is keeping an eye on this whole accident and has instructed the administration to give better treatment to the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to the CM and assured of all possible help. PM Modi has expressed grief over this incident.
At present, after overcoming the fire, the entire building has been evacuated and a large number of police forces are deployed on the spot.
Vijayawada Police Commissioner B Srinivasulu said, “The fire was reported at around 5:09 am, the fire was controlled in 25-30 minutes. 15-20 people trapped in the hotel have been rescued and sent to another private hospital. Some are in critical condition in the hospital. About 30 Covid patients and 10 hospital staff were trapped in the building.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy expressed grief over the incident. With this, he has also ordered an inquiry into the incident. Officials of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the hotel was rented by a private hospital, preliminary investigation revealed that Corona patients were kept here for treatment.
The Chief Minister has instructed to provide better treatment to all the injured. With this, Jaganmohan Reddy has also ordered all the authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and have given a report directly to them.
