(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) Gangstar Vikas Dubey’s case has pulled criminal-police Nexus back into a highlight. Vikas Dubey underworld criminal of Uttar Pradesh has bonded with a politician. He was known to have a friend in every political party that has been in power for the last 15 years in Uttar Pradesh.
Even after he has run away he still has supporters from many groups. He has so close relations with police that before the raiding team reaches his house in Kanpur, He gets the information beforehand. Eight of the policemen were shot dead during their reach to Vikas Dubey house.
In the case of Vikas Dubey, he escapes from the investigation in a very high profile case of the killing of BJP Leader Santosh Shukla. The crime was held in 2001 inside the police station and for 19 years the police have failed to provide justice to the victim.
The eyewitness, in this case, were cops and all deny during the trial, Vikas Dubey escaped due to the lack of proof and no action was taken against the cops who was an eyewitness of the case for denying in the court.

He was accused of killing 8 policemen on 3rd July. It seems another addition of crime in his long sheet charges. It has raised an issue not only in the corruption of policemen but also the range of criminal-police nexus
