(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Vijayawada: Scientists have discovered an important point in research on the treatment of skin cancers caused by UV rays.
Sunlight is good for your health. Also, being in the sun for a long time is not safe. Because Cells in the skin are damaged by the most terrifying ultraviolet (UV) rays emitted from the sun. It can even lead to skin cancer in some people. However, scientists in the latest research say there is good news.
Researchers in Italy isolate certain cells (keratinocytes) collected from patients with non-melanoma skin cancer. These cells were treated with three types of concentrations. Nicotinamide (NAM), vitamin-B3 was provided and kept in front of UVB rays for 18 to 48 hours.
In the results Pre-treatment with NAM of 25 microns before UV irradiation protects skin cells from UV-induced oxidative stress and DAA damage. Speaking on the occasion, Laura Camillo, a research student at AOU Maggiore della Caritas in Navarre said: However, the protective effect of vitamin -B3 is small. Therefore, it should not be taken 24 or 48 hours before exposure to sunlight. This research is going to be more useful for UV cancer victims in the future.
