(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: The Union Environment Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar will preside over a Webinar to be held on 7 September 2020 on ‘First International Clean Air Day for Blue Sky’ today. During the webinar, Mr. Javadekar will also review the progress of various activities or work being carried out under the ‘National Clean Air Program’. The webinar can be joined live.
The webinar will include principal secretaries of urban development and the environment department of 28 states and 8 union territories. The Commissioners of 122 cities identified in the NCAP will also participate in this webinar. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in his address from the ramparts of Red Fort on Independence Day highlighted the need for ‘Overall Improvement In Air Quality’ in hundred cities. The Union Assembly of United Nations had pledged to celebrate ‘International Clean Air Day for Blue Sky’ on 19 December 2019 every year from the year 2020 to 7 September.
