(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Tensions between India and Pakistan have risen once again. The cousin country is conspiring to wreak havoc along the peaceful border. It has disputed Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) as its platform.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is on the rise to occupy the area. Going forward like a bully regardless of the orders of the Government of India. Baltistan, which is an integral part of East Kashmir, is being turned into a full-fledged province (full state status).
Imran, who trampled on Indian warnings in Tunga and toured the disputed area, announced that elections were being held there and challenged India’s sovereignty. The announcement has now sparked a new dispute between the two countries.
Go immediately… India Warning
India argues that the Pak government does not have the power to take decisions against the views of the people in Baltistan, an integral part of undivided Kashmir. To this extent, a statement issued by the country’s foreign ministry spokesman Anurag Srivastava on Sunday has become a hot topic of discussion.
Gilgit-Baltistan, an integral part of their territory, has been invaded by Pakistan and warned to evacuate immediately. He also strongly condemned Pakistan’s attempts to grant provincial status to the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
Apart from changing the status, it was announced to leave the Occupied Territory (POK) immediately. He made the announcement shortly after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the granting of provincial status. This rekindled seven decades of conflict between the two countries.
Gilgit-Baltistan has been an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir since its inception. But the territory to the north lies in the 78,114 square kilometers of Kashmir occupied by Pakistan during the 1947 partition. Pakistan has still used the disputed area for administrative purposes.
Now it is preparing to turn the region into a full province (full statehood) and hold elections on November 15. Imran Khan visited the region to declare Gilgit-Baltistan as the fifth province after Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pak Jealous
The decision to dominate India was made unilaterally without even considering the sentiments of the people of the region. There is no benefit to Pakistan from doing so. In August last year, after the Modi government decided to undermine the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit released maps showing Baltistan as an integral part of Ladakh.
Pak Gilgit, which has been on fire ever since is embroiled in an audacity to invade Baltistan. If Pakistan grants full political status to the region and tightens its grip on it politically and legally, it will have a chance to strengthen itself in the region. The Government of India is on high alert in this regard.
POK is all about India
India has already sent clear signals that it will not tolerate any attempt by Pakistan to turn Gilgit-Baltistan into a province and gain political clout. The State Department has warned of dire consequences if Pakistan steps forward against international law.
Made it clear that every inch of land in POK belongs to India. However, the BJP government at the Center has tightened its grip on the region following the repeal of Article 370, which gives Kashmir autonomy status.
India is also planning to seize Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), which is part of undivided India. As part of this, Gilgit seems to have made the latest statement on Balochistan. BJP leaders and Union ministers have already made public statements on this.
They are making it clear that their goal is to occupy the territories occupied by Pakistan. It is understood that part of this is that the GB is shown as an integral part of the Kashmir map. It remains to be seen what kind of tactics the Modi-Shah duo will devise.
