(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): In this study of Lancet, it has been found that 20 districts of five states are most susceptible to Coronavirus. Bihar has the highest eight such districts, followed by six in Uttar Pradesh and four in Madhya Pradesh. According to the Sensitivity Index, there is one district each in Rajasthan and Jharkhand which are at high risk for corona infection.
In this study, the capacity of the weak district of the country to handle the prevalence of corona virus case has been assessed. “Instead of the risk of corona infection in the Sensitivity Index, it has been considered that the effect of corona virus infection on the population of that area may be affected,” the study said.
Rajeev Acharya, the author of this study by Lancet, is associated with the Population Council of Delhi. He concluded from this study that preventing infection of Covid-19 due to poor health facilities can prove to be a big challenge. Acharya said, “Many districts in many states of the country are unsafe in terms of socio-economic conditions. Many districts are unsafe due to the hygiene and housing conditions of the people. However, most of these districts lack the infrastructure related to health facilities The reasons are unsafe.
A study published in the medical journal The Lancet states. The study assessed these states on five parameters of socio-economic status, demography, housing and sanitation, epidemiology, and health facilities. It was found that many districts of these nine states are still deprived of basic health facilities. If the corona epidemic spreads here in its terrible form, then these districts will not be able to deal with it.
There are nine states with the most population in the country, which are most at risk from the epidemic named Corona due to poor health infrastructure. Health infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Telangana, and Jharkhand poses a major risk of corona infection. Also, due to poor health facilities along with poverty in these states of the country, these states are most sensitive to the corona epidemic.
215 countries of the world have come under the grip of Coronavirus, which started in Wuhan, China. So far, around 1.5 million people worldwide are infected with the coronavirus. A recent study has reported that the number of coronavirus patients in India can be up to 60 percent of the total population. This means that in the coming time, six out of every 10 people may be infected with the coronavirus.
