Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) We will take a tough line against the “forcible” quarantine of Vinay Tiwari, the IPS Officer from Patna who had gone to Mumbai to lead the Bihar police team investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput ‘s death, Bihar’s director general of police Gupteshwar Pandey said on Wednesday.

The officer was quarantined by the Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation just after his arrival in Mumbai on Sunday. Bihar Chief Minister also criticized the treatment given to officers. Earlier, additional municipal commissioner ( projects ) of BMC, P Velrasu, replied to Patna ( central range ) IG Sanjay Singh, who had written to the BMC seeking Tiwari’s release. “In the view of the Coronavirus pandemic situation in Bihar, it is advised that the officer can conduct his proceedings with officials of Maharashtra on a digital platform to avoid him or others. However, the officers have to be in compliance with all the rules and regulations prevailing in the state of Maharashtra”.

All six suspects in the cased, including Rhea Chakroborty, were absconding and alledged that Bihar police officer investigating the case in Mumbai were facing threat to their lives, said Gupteshwar Pandey while talking to media persons.

“Quarantine the Bihar police officer has not sent a good message despite the fact that Mumbai police have a good professional reputation”, said the Supreme court while hearing a plea by Rhea Chakroborty The DGP further said that the Maharashtra police had so far not done the investigation in a proper manner.
