A senior police officer gave this information. He said that the person himself came to the Iqbalpur police station and confessed to the crime. The police have arrested him.
An officer of the Iqbalpur police station said that the accused allegedly carried out the crime by visiting the victims’ home. The victims’ house is on the second floor of a building on Doctor Sudhir Bose Marg. At the time of the incident, most people went to perform Friday prayers and only a few were around. The person took advantage of this situation.
Police are investigating the case. He said that the woman will be over 40 years of age. She was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while the condition of her two daughters has been described as ‘extremely critical’. However, the age of the girls is not yet known. The city’s mayor, Firhad Hakim, reached the site of the incident and called it an ‘incident caused by a family dispute’.
