(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Egypt: An Egyptian Court sentenced five women to 2 years in prison on Monday for posting a video of indecency on Tiktok. This decision shows how difficult the path of self-expression is in the conservative society of the country. They have also been fined 3 lakhs Egyptian pounds (about 14 lakhs rupees) on every woman on the charge of spoiling the environment of the society. The government lawyer said that a fine has been imposed in Egypt on charges of violenting family values and principles, inciting feelings, and promoting human trafficking. The defense lawyers named the two women who included 20 years old student Hanin Hosam and 22 years old Mowada Al Adham. While the other three women helped run a social media account.
