Brussels, Reuters. The world except the US launched a united campaign to combat the Corona virus. Under this, the goal of elimination of the virus has been set by testing for detection of corona infections, treating patients and developing a vaccine. An immediate target of raising 7.5 billion euros (62 thousand crore rupees) has also been set for this campaign, which may also increase later. This online campaign has been started by 27 member countries of the European Union, Britain, Japan, Norway, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Israel etc.
Ambassador in the European Union took part in the campaign from China, while the absence of US participation which was most affected by Corona was missed. The campaign also includes the World Bank, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and many wealthy people. The May 4 date could prove to be Turning Point in the fight against Corona, said European Commission chief Ursla Von Fearne Liene. On this day, the world has unitedly waged a battle to end the virus. An EU spokesperson said, “The US is currently away from this campaign, but it is a big donor to every global organization in the world.”
However, on April 15, President Trump announced the closure of World Health Organization funding. The list of speakers includes the names of French President Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Chinese Prime Minister Li Kachhyang. All these will contribute to the funding as well as appeal to other countries / institutions for donations. The European Commission has called it a real marathon. It states that help is needed from every corner of the world. Currently, Saudi Arabia, the head of the G-20 countries, has announced aid of $ 500 million (about Rs 3,600 crore).
