Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Bihar is likely to experience heavy rain in several parts till July 30 warned the Indian Metrological Department on Monday. The condition has become very favorable for heavy rain in North Bihar informed IMD.

“Monsoon trough has reached close to the foothills of the Himalayas. Another north-south trough from Bihar to North Odisha is lying 1.5km above mean sea level. Under these mechanisms, northern districts of Bihar including Supual, Araria, Kisanganj, and Madhepura are likely to receive heavy rainfall on July 28 and following days” said SK Patel, duty officer at Patna Metrological Center.

“In the past few days, an increase in day temperature was recorded in the state which may cause moderate lightning and thunderstorms at several places”. However, the rain was light to moderate at several places on Monday. Gopalganj recorded 40mm rain while Galgalia, Kathihar ( north ), and Morwa recorded 30 mm rain each during the past 24 hours.

MET center has provided an orange category for North and South East Bihar for July 28 and July 29. Bihar district management has written a letter to DM of 17 districts which are Kisanganj, Araria, Kathihar, Supual, Madhubani, Sharsha, Madhepura Purnea, Khagria, Samastipur for taking a precautionary action in view of heavy rain prediction til July 29.
