(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) In view of the increasing cases of the corona, the effect of the lockdown imposed in different parts of the country has also shown on the economic front.

The Finance Ministry said that “The gross goods and services tax (GST) collection in July 2020 stood at Rs 87,422 crore.”

There has been a decrease in GST collection in the month of July compared to the previous month. The GST collection stood at Rs 90,917 crore in June 2020. Thus, there is a decrease of Rs 3495 crore in GST collection in July as compared to June. According to the Ministry of Finance, out of 87,422 crores in July, 16,147 crore CGST, SGST of 21,418 crores, and IGST of 42,592 crores have been received. Apart from this, a cess of Rs 7265 crores has been received. GST of Rs 1.02 lakh crore was received in July 2019.

According to the Finance Ministry, there has been a decline in GST collections in July 2020 in Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, and West Bengal. At the same time, there has been slow growth in Rajasthan, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.
