Raaisha Upadhyay (intern journalist) Hindustan Zinc has joined hands with Ambuja Cement Foundation to provide employment opportunities and give new direction in life to the unemployed youth of Railmagra who have lost their jobs due to Corona pandemic.
Due to the lockdown, both economic and industrial activities had come to a standstill all over the country and this has led to job losses. Hindustan Zinc’s Skills & Entrepreneurship Development Institute (SEDI) is providing employment opportunities to the youth and has trained around 102 unemployed young men and women through online training in the last two months.
The center is helping trainees/candidates interact with prospective employers and preparing them for online interviews. These trainees/candidates are mostly the ones who were earlier employed but lost their jobs due to the Corona crises. The center has provided re-employment opportunities to Security Guard, Assistant Electrician, Microfinance Executive, General Duty Assistant by getting them interviewed and re-employed. Currently, around 80 trainees are getting online training in all four courses.
