(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a new record in his name just before Independence Day. Today, PM Modi has become the fourth longest-serving Prime Minister in Indian history. Earlier, the three Prime Ministers whose names are included in this list were all from the Congress. PM Modi is the first non-Congress Prime Minister to make such a record.

After PM Modi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee has a place in this list, who had served the country for 2268 days after including all his tenures. Today, PM Modi has passed ahead of that term.

The first Prime Ministers of the longest tenure include the names of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh. Now PM Modi has become the Prime Minister who takes over the reins of the country for the fourth-highest day.

On 15 August this year, when the tricolor is waved from the ramparts of the Red Fort, a new record will be made. On August 15, PM Modi will wave the tricolor from the Red Fort for the seventh time. With this, he will come at number four in the list of prime ministers who do this most often.
