(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Britain: The British-Indian Parliament sang the song ‘Ye Jo Desh Hai Mera, Swadesh Hai Mera’ at an online event organized by the Indian High Commission in London on the occasion of Independence Day in India. Many MPs, members of the House of Lords, and prominent leaders of the community at the events praised the ‘Bridge of Living’ between India and the UK.

Ambassador of India Gayatri Kumar, Asian Affairs Minister in Boris Johnson government, Tariq Ahmad delivered a message at the event. Navendu Mishra, MP from Labour Party of Uttar Pradesh origin, looted applause by singing “Ye Jo Desh Hai Mera, Swadesh Hai Mera” song from the popular movie “Swadesh”. Mishra became the first MP from Stockport in Greater Manchester in December 2019.
