(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): The police tried hard to find the accused in six days but every tactic failed. However, when the police pursued Sudeeksha through CCTV, they were successful and the accused bike riders were caught.

After Sudeeksha’s death, the police had filed a report against unidentified bullet riders on the late evening of August 11. Simultaneously, inspectors and other police teams deployed at various police stations including the SIT were engaged. The police got all the bullet details of the area from the ARTO office. They detected CCTV footage of the area and took out the details of the bikes of the village located near the spot. During this time around 150 bullet bikes were parked at the police station and dozens of people were questioned.

The police took out the blueprint of helmet number 1901, their bags, etc. worn by the accused. After this, about one thousand people were questioned in the city area and the accused were identified after which he was arrested.

The accused were identified as Deepak Solanki, a resident of Gulaothi, and his accomplice Raju, a resident of Bulandshahr dehat. Solanki admitted that he was riding the motorcycle on August 10 when the accident took place. He told the police that they feared that the police would recognize their bike so he kept the bullet standing in one place for two days. After this, he changed the color and wheels of the bullet, replaced the silencer and other items at a mechanic shop.

The police have seized the Royal Enfield motorcycle used in the accident.
