Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Pandit Jasraj, the famous singer of classical music is no more. Pandit Jasraj of Mewati Gharana died in America on Monday. He was 90 years old. He breathed his last in New Jersey, USA. The music world is immersed in mourning with the death of Pandit Jasraj.
According to the information given by Jasraj’s family, he breathed his last at 5.15 am local time. Born on 28 January 1930, Pandit Jasraj gave a new height to Indian classical music. Pandit Jasraj played an important role in giving Indian classical music an important place on the world pane.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Pandit Jasraj by tweeting. Describing the death of Pandit Jasraj as unfortunate, he has said that it has created a deep void in the Indian cultural world.
Pandit Jasraj, who has been active in the music world for more than 80 years of his life, has won classical music in India as well as in America and Canada. Saluting his contribution to the world of music, the International Kholiya Sangh named Panditjasraj, the inferior planet 2006 VP 32, discovered in the year 2006.
