(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Cases of rape and molestation are increasing continuously. The rape cases in Hapur, Lakhimpur, and Gorakhpur have been fresh in the minds of the people for the last week now that the teenager was allegedly raped in Sitapur. Three youths forcibly gang-raped the teenager. When the matter complained to the police, they took the three accused in their custody.
The case is of the Biswan Kotwali area of Sitapur district. A 15-year-old teenager, a resident of a village in the Kotwali area, went outside the house for using the washroom at 11 pm on Saturday. Three teenagers of the village ambushed there, grabbed the girl, pressed her mouth, and took her outside the village. The three raped her there in an isolated place. After this, they left the girl at the door of her house, threatening not to tell anyone. When the girl told the family, they lost their senses.
After this, the aggrieved father reached the police station with the daughter in the morning and after informing about the incident, gave a complaint against the three accused. After the matter came to the headlines, the police on Sunday evening registered a case against Vishal Bhargava, Alok Verma, Kuldeep Kumar Jaiswal in relevant sections and sent the victim to the district headquarters for medical examination.
The victim has also stated that the accused had switched off the LED lights on the electricity pole in the village at the time of the incident which led to darkness on that path.
Police station in-charge Brijesh Rai said that the three accused have been arrested from their house on Sunday night. All three are being questioned. After interrogation, all three will be sent to jail. A medical examination of the victim has been done.
