(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Bahraich: Police arrested Mahtab, a resident of Mendupur Bhawanapur, Meerut, a cattle smuggler on Nanpara-Lakhimpur Highway. He had 8 cattle recovered at DCM. Police filed a case of animal trafficking act against the accused. Station President JN Shukl said that intensive vehicle checking operation was carried out on Monday.
It was reported that the cattle smuggler Meerut resident was on the way to the Nanpara-Lakhimpur highway carrying cattle at DCM. The SO reported that a siege was carried out with the police team near Urrah. Late in the evening when DCM was seen going towards Lakhimpur, the police team indicated to stop but the drive started running. He was besieged and captured. 8 cattle being transported in a vehicle were seized.
