(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): When the corona infection increased, the Bihar government allowed private hospitals in the state to treat patients with corona. Private hospitals started treatment, but soon patients started complaining about an arbitrary collection of money.
JDM Hospital in Patna put pressure on the family of the patient to pay Rs 634200 by giving a raw bill. Due to these complaints, the Health Department fixed the rate of treatment for private hospitals across Bihar. Private hospitals of Patna will not be able to charge more than 18 thousand daily.
Hospitals are divided into three categories to determine the rate of treatment. Category A has hospitals in Patna. Category B consists of hospitals in Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, and Purnia. The remaining other districts in category C are hospitals. Each category of the hospital is divided into two categories. First NABH accredited hospital and second NABH accredited hospital. After this, the rate is fixed according to the condition of the patient and the facility he gets.
