(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) UP: Nearly a month after a journalist was once shot at in the front of his daughters in Ghaziabad, another journalist was shot lifeless in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh on August 24.
A journalist working with a Hindi information channel was shot dead on Monday night in Phephana. He has been identified as Ratan Singh (45). We are investigating the case,” Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Yadav said. According to the police, the shooter used to be an accomplice of the sufferer and was once shot useless after a violent scuffle broke out between the two.
“He was shot lifeless at the residence of the village head. It’s being informed that they had some ancient dispute.” SP Devendra Nath said. Ratan Singh’s father, however, has opposed the declaration of the police.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has introduced a compensation of ₹ 10 lakh for the household of the journalist. In a comparable incident, on July 22, a journalist, Vikram Joshi, shot at via goons in Ghaziabad days after he had filed a police criticism over harassment of his niece.
He was traveling with his daughters when a crew of guys shot him and thrashed him in the front of his daughters. Joshi straight away rushed to a hospital. However, he died two days later.
