Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) On Thursday Russian police declared a preliminary investigation into the circumstances of the sudden illness of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who went into a coma last week following a suspected Poisoning and in between growing pressure from Western officials to investigate.

As per statement recorded on Thursday by a Siberian branch of Russia’s s interior ministry, the official who is investigating in Siberia is working on “establishing all the circumstances of the incident”, conducting forensics studies and collecting items “that may have probative value”.

Navalny is an Opposition politician and corruption investigator who is one of President Vladimir Putin’s critics who fell sick on a flight back to Moscow from Siberia last week after that he was taken to a hospital in the Siberian city of Omsk after the plane made an emergency landing.

On the weekend, he was transferred to the Charlie hospital in Berlin, and their doctors found an indication of “cholinesterase inhibitors” in the body, though the hospital in German Capital has not identified specific substances.
