(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Lucknow: In view of the growing to corona transition in Lucknow, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia has taken charge. The online meeting of Corona infection monitoring and coordination formed by it was called under the chairmanship of the Mayor. In which Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia, Municipal Commissioner Ajay Dwivedi, DCMO Milind, Convenor Rajiv Gupta along with joint Commissioner of a municipal corporation, committee members, zonal officers, and Municipal engineer were present. Concern was expressed in the meeting over the growing Corona infection in Lucknow daily. Also, there was a discussion on taking the necessary steps for incharge control.
At the meeting, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that a large number of people are often seen in the market and homes without wearing masks. The same situation exists for many Street vendors, which increases the risk of infection. Just because the municipal operation will run a ‘Toko Campaign’, in which, if no one is seen not wearing masks on the streets of Lucknow, then the public, councilors, and scavengers must interrupt when they do not wear masks; tell them that their not wearing masks increases the risk of Corona infection and may give Corona infection to others. The interruption of the public along with the cleaning staff will create fear in him and we will come out of the house next time wearing a mask. The same Toko campaign should be carried out against those who spread dirt and spit from place to place. The Mayor said that often Street vendors, especially in shops, are seen selling items without masks, with many customers also buying items without masks. My appeal to them to wear masks and buy and sell goods only after wearing masks.
Other points are drawn in the meeting –
- The mayor directed Municipal Commissioner to proposal a proposal for the use of covid 19 to the municipal corporation Hospital, by negotiating the health department and the Lucknow administration.
- In all the zones or wards, a campaign should be conducted for the Corona examination again.
- CHC/PHC incharges will keep in touch with doctors. Corona committee members will provide immediate help to the public.
- Information will also be given to the local councilor for the care and guidance of home isolation patients.
- On receipt of covid positive, barricading will be done in collaboration with the local Councillor.
- On the instructions of the Mayor, a sanitization machine was first available in each of the wards. Councilors said that some of them have deteriorated. The Mayor immediately directed them to buy new machines.
- Seeing the safety of the sanitation workers, the mayor directed all the employees to make masks, gloves, and caps available again.
- PPE kit will be made available to employees going to house sanitization of Corona positive patients.
- Large machines for sanitization and machines on E-rickshaws in each zone will be purchased.
- The members of the monitoring and co-ordination committee will co-ordinate with the administration and provide the necessary to provide ordination to the public and the administration, providing facilities to the home isolated and infected patients.
Decisions were taken for communicable and dengue prevention
- Drain, Road will be expedited in each ward.
- Chosen and drug spraying will be ensured overtime under the leadership of zonal officers.
- Awareness will be increased for the prevention of communicable diseases.
- The Mayor directed the City Commissioner to quickly fixed the malfunctioning robots in the RR department engaged in garbage picking.
- For the collection of garbage and sanitation, the list of necessary materials and resources will be made very soon.
- The City Commissioner informed that a big vehicle will be received soon from the government.
- I-card will be made available for the employees of the executive institutions so that the frauds happening in the employees in the working institutions will also be stopped.
- Arrangements will be made available for the speedy redressal of public complaints coming for cleaning and sanitization.
The ‘Corona monitoring and Coordination committee’ was constituted zone wise by the Mayor for prevention of growing Corona infection and diseases in Lucknow and coordination among the public, public representatives, and officials so that services provided by the municipal corporation to the public directly during this growing transition period to be delivered effectively. In the meeting, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that public confidence in the municipal corporation has been established due to the work done by the municipal corporation during the corona period. Similarly, we have to work further by becoming partners of the public and government so that complaints and suggestions received from the public can be implemented in Public Interest. Lucknow Administration and health departments are engaged in their lives. But Cases are increasing. This suggests that more awareness in public is necessary. There are often complaints that the public in Markets and other places do not wear a mask and do not comply with social distancing. With is the time for dengue and communicable diseases have also started. Our counselors working on the Administration and the biggest route levels are also working continuously. In order to protect the public from Corona, the efforts of the People’s representatives and the administration will work together in mutual cooperation. Now every week on Sunday there will be a meeting of the Corona monitoring committee. Other officers of Administration will also be present in the next meeting.
