Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): After clearing the picture of when and how many phases the assembly elections will be held, the process of security forces coming to Bihar will soon begin for peaceful and fair elections. A large number of security forces are expected to visit Bihar in view of the elections in Corona and three phases. However, in a presentation given by the Bihar Police to the Commission in view of different circumstances, about 3600 companies of security forces were required for the elections in three phases.
In the 2015 assembly elections, Bihar got 725 companies of security forces, while the voting was done in 5 phases. 250 companies had come to Bihar about a month ago for the pre-election campaign. This time the election is to be held in 3 phases. In view of this, more paramilitary forces will be needed. According to sources, due to the increase in the number of booths and polling stations due to Corona, more security forces will be required than before. The deployment of paramilitary forces is not less than in the flower section (2/8) or the half-section (1/4).
Naxalite affected areas will fall in all three phases
Many districts of Bihar are Naxalite affected. These include Gaya, Aurangabad, Jamui, and Lakhisarai in Naxal-sensitive districts. Nawada, Munger Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Banka, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, East Champaran, and Bagaha (Police District) are also Naxal affected.
And these are included in the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) districts. Polling is to be held in the first and third phases in the susceptible districts. But there are also Naxalite affected areas in the third phase.
