Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) The Biden campaign has taken an initiative to reach out to the Sikh community in the US and vowed to address their problem, including xenophobia, which minority group faces in the country.
The Biden campaign, which launched the launched the ‘Sikh American for Biden’ initiative and told that they have a plan which focuses on protecting Sikh-American youth in school. Sikh-American youth has to face bullying at rates twice the national average and have reported a surge in these encounters since 2017, the campaign informed this in a press release on Sunday.
Biden campaign plan tries to put emphasis on plans and policies that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has highlighted in his platform to address the challenges that the Sikh American community faces with regards to racism, xenophobia, and discrimination, it said.
