(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Rohtang : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated the strategically important Atal Tunnel to the country. This atal tunnel is in Rohtang (Himachal Pradesh). The distance between Leh and Manali via this tunnel will be reduced by 46 km. Through this tunnel, the troops deployed in Ladakh will remain in good contact throughout the year. This tunnel will prove to be most effective for emergency situations and under special circumstances, Atal Tunnel will act as Emergency Exit. The Atal Tunnel is designed like a horseshoe. The cost of construction of double lane tunnel is 3300 crores. It is also important for the country from the defense point of view. It has been provided with telephone every 150 meters and water hydrant at 60 meters. Also, there is an emergency facility to get out of it every 500 meters. There is an automatic incident detection system with a broadcasting system and CCTV cameras every 250 meters.
The distance from Manali to Leh has been reduced by 46 km due to the Atal tunnel made by cutting the hills of Pir Panjal.
Apart from this, the Atal Tunnel is also an alternative route to Rohtang Pass located at 13,050 feet. It took about 5 hours to reach Lahaul and Spiti Valley from Manali Valley.
But now this distance will be covered in about 10 minutes through this tunnel. That is, you should understand that it is the unwavering resolve of the new India to protect inch-by-inch land, not after Atal Tunnel, after which whether China or Pakistan will think 100 times to show India their eyes.
