Not only this, but the corpse was also burnt along the river bank. The police have arrested his brother and uncle in the murder of his own niece. Srihari and his cousin Aishwarya (20) were allegedly killed by poisoning the woman from the Krishna Nagar area and her body was burnt by family members. Bhilai Nagar City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ajit Yadav said that the two accused have been identified as Ramu and Bhai, the victim’s uncle. Yadav said, “Last month, Srihari and Aishwarya went missing from their homes next to each other in Krishna Nagar, after which the family lodged a report of their disappearance.” Traced the location and sent a team there, saying that the duo was brought back to the fort on October 7 and after completing legal formalities, the young man was handed over to his family.
Yadav said, “On Saturday night, when a patrolling team noticed some suspicious activities in those houses, they went in for general interrogation. During this time both the accused admitted to poisoning the victims.” During interrogation, both the accused revealed that they burnt dead bodies on the banks of Shivnath river near Jevra Sirsa village, about 10 km from Supela. According to the accused, the victim was in a relationship and wanted to marry the young man, but the family members were against it. City SP said that the police have recovered partially burnt bodies of the victims. A case has now been registered against the accused related to the case and further investigation is going on.
