(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Gonda: The Mahant of the Ramjanaki temple conspired to fire the priest along with the existing village headman to implicate the former village head Amar Singh of Tirremanorama in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, the priest who was injured in the attack was also involved in the conspiracy. Police have revealed this late Friday night by arresting seven people, including the accused Mahant, his son, the village head. Police have recovered three cartridges, three live cartridges, one khok cartridge, and four mobiles from the arrested accused. Atul Tripathi alias Samrat Das, the priest of the Ramjanaki temple in Tirremanorama, was shot inside the temple midnight of 10 October. The priest was referred to Lucknow from the district hospital. In the case, the temple’s Mahant Vrindasharan Tripathi alias Sitaram Das had lodged a report of a fatal attack in the police station Itiathok against four people, including the former village head of Tirremanorama, Amar Singh. The police arrested two of the accused.
SP Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that after the testimony of witnesses from the surveillance during the investigation, police from a garden in Tirremanorama village on Friday night accused Vrindasharan Tripathi alias Sitaram Das, Vipin Dwivedi alias Chhotu, Vinay Kumar Singh, his son Neeraj.
Singh resident Tirremanorama, Munna Singh, Sonu Singh, and Shivshankar Singh were arrested. SP said that among the accused arrested, Sitaram Das said that there was a dispute with Amar Singh over the 120 bigha land of the temple. So along with the village head Vinay Singh and priest Samrat Das, a month before the incident, a conspiracy was hatched with the intention of trapping Amar Singh. This would clear the way for both the Mahant and the village head. Therefore, Neeraj Singh, Munna Singh, and Sonu Singh reached the temple on the night of 10 October. Munna Singh shot the priest.
After this, the home guards ran on hearing the sound of firing, and the accused also fired on the home guards. But the home guards survived due to a fire miss.
The SP said that the priest Atul Tripathi alias Samrat Das was also involved in the conspiracy. A police team has been pressed in search of accused Suraj Singh. The priest has been treated in Lucknow. The priest will be arrested if he is healthy. The police team comprised the surveillance team including the Swat team in-charge Atul Chaturvedi, the station head Itiathok Sanjay Dubey, the station chief Wazirganj Santosh Tiwari. Before the incident in Tirremanorama, Neeraj Singh, the son of the current village head Vinay Singh, was monitoring the home guards by climbing the roof of the Ramjanaki temple. After one home guard slept, the other home guard went to the restroom. Meanwhile, at the behest of Neeraj, Sonu Singh and Munna Singh entered the temple and after meeting Mahant Sitaram Das and Pujari Samrat Das, Munna Singh shot the priest. In the trial of the murderous attack in the attack on the priest of the Ramjanaki temple in Tirremanorama, the police have increased the conspiracy as well as the sections of false evidence to prove the incident correct.
These sections have been imposed on all the accused.
