(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): There is no possibility of Pakistan coming out of the greylist of FATF, the victim of the pestilence. It has not even carried out the lashes on six of the 27-point guidelines of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Not only this, the government of Pakistan has secretly lifted the ban on more than five thousand terrorists. There has been no effective action against the UN declared terrorist leaders like Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Masood Azhar. The virtual session of the FATF will take place in Paris from 21 to 23 October. It will review the work of Pakistan.
The FATF monitors the economic system of terrorist organizations and criminal gangs worldwide and illegally sending money to other countries. The FATF has been eyeing the government support being received by militant organizations in Pakistan for many years. After several warnings, the institution put Pakistan on the greylist in June 2018 and set the guidelines, and put the responsibility of action.
