• UP CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the Auraiya accident, while former Akhilesh Yadav has described it as murder.
• 24 workers died in the accident while 35 workers were injured.
24 migrant laborers were killed and 35 injured in a truck and DCM vehicle collision in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh this morning. Of these, 14 seriously injured laborers have been admitted to the PGI of Saifai Etawah. Most of the workers in these two vehicles were from West Bengal and Jharkhand. Now UP CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over this accident, while former Akhilesh Yadav has described it as murder.
CM Yogi expressed sorrow over the Auraiya accident. Yogi tweeted, “The death of migrant workers in a road accident in Auraiya district is unfortunate and sad, my condolences are with the bereaved families of the dead.” Instructions have also been given to provide all possible relief to the victims, to provide proper treatment to the injured, and to get a quick investigation of the accident.
Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has expressed grief by tweeting on the Auraiya accident. At the same time, Akhilesh has also targeted the Yogi government. Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, “Indescribable grief over the death of more than 24 poor migrant workers in a road accident in Auraiya of UP. Prayers for the injured Knowing everything … even after seeing everything … see how the heartless people and their supporters who are silent justify this neglect. Such accidents are not deaths but murders.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan wrote in condolences, “Many precious lives were lost in the cheeks of the untimely period in the road accident caused by a DCM full of workers in Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh and a trailer collision. Sad news received. I pray to God for peace of departed souls and quick recovery of the injured.
Kanpur Inspector General of Police Mohit Aggarwal said that on Saturday morning a DCM Matador was bringing laborers from Delhi. Some of these workers were drinking tea at a tea shop on the roadside, stopping the matador on Auraiya and Kanpur road. Just then, a truck carrying workers from Jaipur in Rajasthan hit this matador. The collision was so severe that both the vehicles fell into a roadside pit. He told that 24 workers died in this accident while 35 workers were injured.
