(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Kanpur: A mad lover, a resident of Babupurwa, who had a one-sided love for a young girl from Kidwai Nagar, threatened to blow up the railway station, bus stand, and Regency Hospital. The surveillance team of SP South arrested the accused on Sunday night by tracing the location.
A mobile phone has been recovered from him, from which he called at all places. On Saturday, someone on the railway’s toll-free number threatened to blow up the Central Station.
He then threatened to blow up the Jhakarkati bus stand, the landline number, the hospital near Motijheel, and the Shanti Niketan Sweet House in Kidwai Nagar by calling the toll-free number of the roadways.
Soon after receiving the call, the police of GRP as well as various police stations started investigating. SP South and SP West also deployed their surveillance team. After this, the accused was detected. On Sunday night, the police arrested him from a hotel near Jhakarkati.
SP South told that the name of the accused arrested is Arshad and he hails from Begumpurwa of Babupurwa police station area. Mobile used to threaten her and a fake Aadhar card in the name of Rahul Singh has also been recovered. He used this fake ID to cheat people. They also used to take a room at hotels in the name of Rahul Singh. Accused loves one woman unilaterally. The incident took place when he was not found. Lawsuits have been filed against him in Swaroopnagar, Kidwai Nagar, Babupurwa, and Railbazar police stations. Will be sent to jail on Monday.
Arshad told during interrogation that he works as Rahul Singh in a hotel on Delhi Jaipur Highway. Some time ago he came to Kanpur when he met a young woman in Kidwai Nagar.
