(Ritambhara, intern journalist) Meerut: The government has accepted the proposal for the Maliana bridge located at Baghpat road. The government has approved 36.64 lakh for the repair of the Maliana bridge. In this cost works from pavement to flange, railings, and iron fabricated, etc. will be done. Please tell that there have been twice the accidents of falling trucks from Maliana bridge. After the bridge and the pavement gap over the bridge has ended, the possibility of accidents has increased. The Public Works Department will soon start work to repair the bridge.
The Maliana Bridge at Baghpat Road has a lifespan of around 40 years. The Maliana bridge was not repaired even once during this period. As a result, the condition of the bridge went into a very pathetic state. The railing on either side of the bridge is broken. There are pits in the road. Waves become uncontrolled due to the pavement and the road being parallel. In the last three months, there have been two accidents of trucks coming down from Maliana bridge. Public Works Department officials have prepared the proposal after inspecting the inspection of the Maliana bridge with Setu Nigam. Three broken flanges of the Maliana bridge have been included in the proposal. Iron fabricated will be used for repairing it. Broken railings will also be repaired.
Expansion joint and bearings will be repaired
Executive Engineer Arvind Kumar of the Public Works Department Provincial Section told that the expansion joint and bearings will be repaired at Maliana Bridge. The bearings roller has rusted. Due to which he too has come in a miserable condition. The government has approved Rs 36.64 lakh. The tender process has been started. Considering the gravity of the bridge, repair work will be started soon.
