(Pooja Pal; Intern Journalist): New Delhi Ola and Uber, cab service via online mode, have alleged their services in various cities of the country. These companies stated this on Monday after the regime provided the public, some relief via new rules in Lockdown 4.0. Furthermore, stating the Lockdown to extend till May 31 with several exemptions. In Lockdown 4.0, the administration has permitted the working of public transport including Ola and Uber with t&c. However, the final decisions regarding the same lie in the hands of the State Government.
Uber Company alleged, “Uber will restart its cab services now in assorted segments of the country, keeping in mind the new t&cs of Lockdown 4.0 as well. Drivers & passengers will be informed about further information and guidelines via the Uber app.”
Uber announced its cab services to have been resumed in Amritsar, Asansol, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Guwahati, Hubli, Jalandhar, Kochi, Kozhikode, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mehsana, Mohali, Mysore, Patiala, Prayagraj, Silvassa, Sonipat, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur, Vapi, Vishakhapatnam and its delivery service of utmost necessity in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai and Nashik through the Uber Essential Uber app.
Besides this, Ola also started its services by stating “Working of 3-wheeler & 4-wheeler to commence in Karnataka, Telangana, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu (Chennai not included), Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Assam as well; keeping in mind the new t&cs of Lockdown 4.0 as stated by the regime.
